IIt Home visit

In last week of June 165 students of "IIT Home" along with their Director and staff visited Sandnya Srushti. They reached at 10.00 am and were in the campus till 4.00pm. They were in the prayer along with our students and were totally engrossed in the prayer. Our prayer routine is so very serene that every one is totally lost in to it. I feel, the daily divine intervention starts from here. IIT Home students then had a guided tour of our school in the batches of about 25 students and each group is being led by our staff member. They were taken to each class and were explained about the activity carried out in each class. It took about one and half hour for this guided tour. After that, these students had there tiffin and took lunch. At about 12.45 they assembled in our first floor meeting hall for briefing. Secretary, Navin Deshpande conducted the meeting, were in right from causes of mental disability to rehabilitation of mentally challenged was discussed. IIT Home is a coaching center for IIT entrance test and obviously these students are high ranking students in 10 th std. board exam. They are all brilliant students and understand things faster. After my briefing which went up to 2.30 pm their director Ms. Nisha Kothari addressed them. She appealed to them that simply thinking about yourself will not help you in your life. The only thing which gives you lasting happiness is by doing some thing for the less fortunate. And the habit of doing some thing for others should start from this age of your self. So start supporting with gestures like donating small amount from your pocket money to people like SSS. It is since last more than 13 years that Ms.Nisha Kothari brings her students to SSS for social orientation. It is a commendably consistency she does this for such long period. Not only this every year they donate a amount to SSS. This year they donated Rs.92000/- which is quite a sum. In fact what she does is, during the year in IIT Home, they collect fine from students for certain lapses on the part of the students. To this total amount she adds the equal amount from her own pocket and then it is donated to us every year. And she tells this thing to students also; so they are also aware that fine collected from them goes to the noble cause.
I received a telephone call in the morning at my residence. The caller identified him self as the IIT Home Student. He said, he along with his IIT Home colleagues planned a dinner party for a certain occasion. They had planned a budget for this. But before going for this party some of them thought of donating this amount to SSS in stead of celebrating. I think it is a great initiative on the part of this young men.
